	The Bharathiar University has introduced a number of courses thus extending its PGD course offering. The courses include Postgraduate Diploma in Tamil in Mass Communication with DTP Applications which has an orientation of practical Tamil allowing students who complete the course to start a DTP centre or to join a media agency. Other courses include Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Health Sciences, Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics, Postgraduate Diploma in Nanotechnology, Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga, Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance.

PG Diploma Nano Technology: According to Vice-Chancellor Prof G Thiruvasagam the courses in nanotechnology were being introduced keeping in mind the innovations taking place in this field in which billions of dollars were invested by countries. Classification: Application of nano science is broadly classified into the field of Medicine,Electronics, Bionanotechnology and fundamental material science. Admission: Admission by Entrance Test: Selection will be based on performance in an entrance test and in the qualifying examination (UG) up to V Semester / II year. The Entrance Test will be conducted in the university campus only. Further details are available in the prospectus & in the website. Direct Admission: Spot Admission will be made on submission of application on first come first served basis. Eligibility: Candidates presently pursing Master's degree programme in college are permitted to pursue concurrently these P.G Diploma Courses as per eligibility requirement to widen their career prospectus.
