Forum Topic : About Leucoderma
Submitted by Thomas on 15/06/2009 - 10:07 PM
Leucoderma is a rare skin disease characterized by white spots and patches. In this distressful but not contagious disease, there is a gradual loss of pigment called melanin from the dermal layers that results into white patches. Leucoderma may begin with a small patch but slowly and steadily spreads throughout the body. The actual cause is still not known though several studies have been conducted on the subject. Some of the perceived causes are emotional stress, hereditary factors, worms, sunburns and physical illness.

Cause and Home Treatment for Leukoderma
Submitted by Steve on 30/06/2009 - 12:07 AM
Leukoderma usually begins with stray spots of white color and spreads to other parts of the body.
You should watch the spots carefully in order to see if they are increasing in size or if they are spreading to other parts of your body.
You should avoid being stressed and learn to be calm.

Home Treatment:
1. You should start eating figs since this can be extremely beneficial in curing the white spots.
2. You can also increase your consumption of oranges and orange juice.
3. Grate fresh ginger to make a poultice and lay it over the white patches for at least fifteen minutes.
4. You can also eat walnuts every day.
5. Pomegranate leaves can be dried in the shade and then ground to make a powder. This powder, when taken with water in the morning and evening, is effective to reduce the white patches.
