Eligibility Criteria for taking up CAT TEST :

    For all IIMs, the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to any PG Program is at least a 3 yr Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

    The candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability category], of any of the Recognized Universities

    Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor degree examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/ Registrar/Director of the university/institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year / is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on latest available grades/marks.

The examination pattern for Common Admission Test (CAT) will be:

1. Multiple-choice based entrance exam, with negative marking for wrong answers.

2. It comprises of three sections, which span the domains of arithmetical problem solving, geometry, statistics, data interpretation, logical reasoning, puzzles, and English language skills.

3. Every year, changes are also made in the total number of questions and the time duration of CAT.
