Indian Economy

Dear All
U CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO THE INDIAN ECONOMY BY FOLLOWING FEW SIMPLE STEPS.

Please spare a couple of minutes here… for the sake of India …. our country.

I love my india

I love my india

Small example,

Before 5 months 1 US $ = IND Rs 39

After 5 months. Now it is 1 $ = IND Rs 50

Do you think US Economy is booming? No, but Indian Economy is Going Down.

Our Economy is in u’r hands

INDIAN economy is in a crisis.. Our country like many other ASIAN countries is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation.

More than 30000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages…. etc which are grown, produced and consumed here.

A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paisa to produce is sold for NINE rupees, and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy.

We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interests we request everybody to use INDIAN products only for next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future.

What you can do about it?

1. Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.

2. ENROLL as many people as possible for this cause.

Each individual should become a leader for this awareness.

This is the only way to save our country from severe economic crisis. You don’t need to give-up your lifestyle. You just need to choose an alternate product.

All categories of products are available from WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

stay young

stay young

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down..

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. ‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5.. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it.. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.

Watch YouTube to crack CAT, IIMs tell aspirants

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have asked the aspirants seeking a place in the elite B-Schools to watch the YouTube to get assistance in cracking the online Common Admission Test (CAT).

The CAT, which has gone online from this year, will be held between Nov 28 and Dec 7 in 32 cities and at 105 testing centres.

Around 242,000 aspirants will attempt to bell the CAT this year for entry into the reputed IIMs. The figure has fallen from 276,000 candidates last year.

Candidates are encouraged to view the YouTube videos,” an official communication from the IIMs and their online test conductor Prometric said Wednesday.

There are several videos available on the YouTube for helping aspirants in coping with the exam.

The IIMs specifically have urged students to watch a video titled “What to expect on test day”.

The management school also issued a final reminder to candidates appearing for the CAT to “stay contactable by phone and email from today onwards. Access emails regularly, including the spam folder”.

The candidates have also been asked to check the admit cards thoroughly for appointment date, time and test location.

“Candidates should note that any SMS messages sent by Prometric will be from PROMETRC (the letter “i” has been omitted to conform to the TRAI eight-character ID regulation),” the company underlined.

Indian students in US exceed 100,000, register record

For the eighth consecutive year, Indian students in the US topped the figure of foreign students in that country in 2009, numbering 103,260 and registering a 9 per cent increase against last year’s figure of 94,563.

Disclosing this at a press conference here today, US Ambassador to India, Timothy Roemer, said the number of US students in India had also increased by 20 per cent.

Both developments signified a deep understanding between the two countries in the field of education, development and related matters, he said.

”The relationship between the United States and India…can at times be hard to quantify in its many dimensions. But the outstanding news of the record number of Indian students studying in the US is concrete evidence of the strength and depth of our connection,” he said.

Pointing out that the dignity and strength of both nations depended on the education of their people, he called for aggressively seizing the opportunities.

”These extraordinary numbers, growing each year, are a testament to the deep and robust relationship our two countries share and the bright future of cooperation the people of our great nations will see,” he added.

Of these 15,600 are undergraduates, 71,019 graduates (including masters and PhD programmes), 1,755 non-degree and 14,886 internship participants.

In 2007-08, the Indian student distribution in the US was 13,639 undergraduates, 68,069 graduates, 979 non-degree and 10,846 internship participants.

THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELLPHONE COULD DO

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it: -

1. EMERGENCY

The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is  112 .* If you find  yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
**Try it out.**

2. Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does you car have remote keys?
This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other ‘remote’ for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

3. Hidden Battery power

Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call and you don’t have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve battery.

To activate, press the keys *3370#
Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

4. How to disable a STOLEN mobile Phone?

To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following digits on your phone:
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either.

5. This is VITAL

Be careful while using your mobile phone when you try to call someone through mobile phone; don’t put your mobile closer to your ears until the recipient answers.

Because directly after dialing, the mobile phone would use it’s maximum signaling power, which is: 2watts = 33dbi

Top five cancer-causing foods

1. Hot Dogs

1

Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can’t live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and Bacon

2

Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3. Doughnuts

3

Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries

4

Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies

5

All are usually made with white flour and sugar.. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

Main Causes of Liver Damage

ATT00002

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.

2. Not urinating in the morning.

3 . Too much eating.

4. Skipping breakfast.

5. Consuming too much medication.

6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.

7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil.
As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.

8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to ’schedule.’

Brain Damaging Habits

Brain

1. No Breakfast

People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2 . Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our 20 body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6 . Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest.. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells..

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain

Swine flu

The latest Government Guidelines on Swine flu(published on 14th Aug) is welcome and very pragmatic, dividing into certain classes of severity for diagnostic and management concerns are the pick of the matter, there are certain caveats though–as can be a case with any guidelines–Test only when people have life threatning severity, and this are again the same class of people who would need Hospitalisation.

This guidance is good for resource management, but more appears like a ”curative approach” to the problem and lacks “preventive approach”. It does lack certain factors on who should receive prophylaxis, as Drug-Treatment now can be provided without any further need of laboratory test based on severity and at risk status, the community may still continue to be at risk, as it will now not be possible to know that who among the community was positive afterall as they were never tested, and the multiplication of cases may continue to happen.
Pandemic is a Community Medicine subject and just concentrating on the clinical cases may allow it to be there where it was or may be allow to move it further.

Seeking Balance in Education

It is widely accepted that India’s education system has and continues to fail the vast majority of its population. As the challenge of providing education to millions persists, despite efforts by the Central government, there are calls by many for a shift towards privatization of primary and higher education. In particular, calls emerge to disconnect the funding of education from its operation, through the provision of education vouchers. While privatization has worked well elsewhere, would it work in the field of education?

The argument for privatization is at once political and ideological. It is political because it reflects how societies feel about the role of the State in providing “public” services such as healthcare and education. It is ideological because proponents often supplement demands for privatization with terms such as “economic freedom” or “choice” to justify their preference. Yet, this last confuses means with ends. The existence of choice can hardly be viewed as an end in itself in this discussion. Not only does such terminology presume that choice is informed but it is relevant in this debate only if it improves actual educational outcomes, rather than the perceived satisfaction of parents.

This analysis suggests that privatization is neither necessary nor sufficient for better quality and access to education. Nor is money the only or even best incentive available to improve either. Yet, the debate does offer valuable insights into why our system has not worked and how to fix it. The current system can, therefore, gain much through greater competition and better (possibly non-financial) incentives.
